Woke up Friday morning, walked out the house, reacted in shock!
Yes… thieves stole all 4 tires right off my BMW and left it jacked up on the driver’s side, and sitting on the ground on the passenger side (I found out later that the jack actually collapsed on that side and punctured the car’s floorboard (insurance company will be extra-psyched about that!) Police officer told me it probably took less than 2 minutes in and out… wow, that makes me feel great 🙂
Finally got version one of our travel photos… that would be my version using the Canon Elph 2MegaPixel digital, set at half quality in order to maximize # of photos on the card… the photos are great, but still not close to the quality that we got from Karen’s 6MegaPizel Rebel… you’ll just have to wait to see those 🙂
Aren’t they just too cute? Darcy the Boston Terrier is pretty old in this photo. Zach the Dog is just a puppy. 🙂
Officially made the decision today to return to work next Thursday — not sure what the final decision maker was, but ultimately I think it is the right decision for me right now. Took Zach the Dog to the Magnuson/Sand Point dog park today, and what a gorgeous day it was in the Pacific Northwest — the Cascade and Olympic mountains were both out in full force. Zach was in and out of the water — so much that I thought he might actually go swimming, but no, he limited it to where he could stand.
thursday 15th/saturday 17th… long day of flying — left on the 15th from seattle to LA… slept 10 hours straight on flight to auckland, with aid of sleepign pills! landed in nz on the 17th… in auckland, then christchurch and finally dunedin… wow! to our homestay ‘nesbit cottage’ and then downtown to explore a bit… dunedin university, botanic gardens… drinks on the octagon (center of town)… started reading cryptonomicon…
sunday the 18th… up at 4am… to see yellow penguins at sand fly beach… some sea lions and seals as well.. pretty cool stuff… then later hiked up the steepest street in the world in dunedin… saw some very rare albatross… dinner on Georges St in Dunedin… home later…
monday the 19th… got rental car and drove 370km to christchurch… walked around town… over the avon river… saw christchurch museum… dinner at indian restaurant… met up with ignacio and laura (friend’s of sebastien badault’s) at internet cafe on cathedral square in christchurch…
